Proverbs Collection 1: Guarding Your Temper
The Story
Proverbs 14:29 "People with understanding control their anger; a hot temper shows great foolishness." Proverbs 16:32 "Better to be patient than powerful; better to have self-control than to conquer a city." Proverbs 19:11 "Sensible people control their temper; they earn respect by overlooking wrongs."
The Message
True strength is not the ability to overpower others with force or words in a moment of anger — it is the quiet, disciplined power of a person who can pause, breathe, and choose a measured response even when provoked. When we guard our temper we not only protect our relationships and our testimony, but we reflect the patient and longsuffering character of God who is slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
